Overview
The iProcess app includes a Settings section that allows you to customize how transactions are processed and displayed. These options can help you tailor the app to match your business needs and improve your day-to-day operations.
Whether you're managing tips, enabling recurring payments, or configuring device security, understanding these settings ensures smoother checkout experiences and more control over your payment workflows.
iProcess Settings Overview
Below is a breakdown of each setting and what it controls:
Setting Name | What It Does |
---|---|
Customer Vault | If enabled on your merchant account, turning this on will add a “Customers” tab in your menu, allowing you to securely store new customers and process sales with existing customers. |
Enable Recurring | Activates the “Recurring” tab in your menu, letting you set up repeat billing schedules. Ideal for subscriptions or ongoing services. |
Default Sale Page | Choose which sale screen shows first—On-Device, Wireless Card Reader, or Cash. All sale types remain available, but setting a default can save time. |
Default to Auth Only | Sets all new sales to authorization-only mode. These transactions must be manually captured later to complete payment. |
Default to Product Sale Page | If you regularly charge using a product catalog, enabling this directs you straight to the product-based sale screen. |
Customer Signature | Requires customer signature on keyed or headphone-jack swiped transactions. Bluetooth reader transactions only request a signature if required by the card. |
Tax Rate | Set a tax rate for automatic calculation on each sale. Helps maintain consistency at checkout. |
Currency | Select your preferred transaction currency from the available options. |
Surcharge | Adds a specified percentage fee to all sales. Make sure your use complies with local regulations. |
Cash Discount | Apply a discount for customers who pay with cash. Best practice is to use either a surcharge or a cash discount—not both—to remain compliant. |
Prompt for Tips | Turns tip prompting on or off for sales transactions. Great for service-based businesses. |
Show Maps on Receipts | Includes a map of the transaction location on the customer’s receipt. Note: The phone or tablet needs to allow iProcess to use your location for this setting to work. |
Device Nickname | Assign a name to your device (e.g., “Jasmine’s iPhone”) for easier tracking and identification. |
Automatic Email Receipts | Sends receipts automatically to customers when an email is included at checkout. |
Appearance | Choose light or dark mode to match your visual preferences. |
Security Preference | Set a password required every time the app opens. If forgotten, you’ll need to reinstall the app to regain access. |

Common Questions
Can I use both a surcharge and a cash discount at the same time?
No. It's best practice to only use one. Using both simultaneously can lead to compliance issues.
Will changing the default sale page remove the other sale types?
No. All options remain available—this just sets the screen that appears first.
Does the customer signature setting apply to all transactions?
No. Bluetooth reader transactions only prompt for a signature if the card itself requests it.
